Last week I was wearing sandals and a tank top and couldn't get cool enough...

Right now, my bedroom is 55 degrees Fahrenheit (12C) at its WARMEST and I left almost all of my warm clothes in Samokov.

My host mom's solution?

"Drink more Rakia!"

I'm an '08 graduate of Elon University, and a currently serving Peace Corps Volunteer in a small city south of the capital of Sofia in Bulgaria.

Until April 2011, I will be continuing to work with Roma youth at the only NGO in my town that works towards efforts of integration in the Roma community. Primarily, I help run an afterschool program that incorporates life skills, English and Bulgarian language classes, arts and crafts, and sports.

It's been a bumpy road, but after a ski accident that brought me home for the better part of a year only 6 months into my service, I'm in it for the long haul! Or at least until April when its on to my next adventure.
